Durga Swaminathan, a resident of Redmond Seattle is an accomplished Bharatnatyam artiste of the Kalakshetra style, with 3 decades of proficiency in the art form as a choreographer, teacher & dancer
She was initiated to the classic dance form by Guru "Ranganayaki Jayaraman" and later transitioned to "Padmashri Adayar.K.Laxman" .
Durga has been able to imbibe the best from the collective wisdom & expertise of her gurus. Her rendition of the emotional & physical aspects of the dance form has been critically acclaimed in India & US. She has appeared extensively on various group & solo performances across the globe, including media networks such as "Jaya TV & Doordarshan".
She is a founding member of the 'Cultural Committee' at the "Hindu Temple & Cultural Center", in Bothell, Seattle, a Non-Profit organization that promotes local artistes. She is a volunteer for the "IAWW Senior" and
is a regular performer at their community events
